Please join me in welcoming our newest team member: Adrienne Alford

Please join me in welcoming Adrienne Alford to our Executive team. Adrienne has been supporting Menno Place as an HR consultant over the past few months and effective Tuesday, October 17th, will join us as interim Director, People and Culture while Melissa Francis is away. She will be part of the Executive Team helping support our leadership and staff across the Menno Campus.

Adrienne has 25+ years experience working in the health, social and education service sectors and has operated her own human resource consulting firm since 2021. Adrienne is an innovative HR leadership executive and mediator. She is skilled at integrating business and human resources practice by building organizational community and enabling cultural transitions. Her passions include conflict resolution, innovation in HR and challenging inequity within professional recognition and workplace inclusion.

Adrienne has extensive national and international public speaking experience in health change leadership via podcast, radio, webinar and public speaking including the University of British Columbia health policy graduate studies and Simon Fraser University gerontology programs.

Adrienne values relationships, ethics, and transparency in leadership. She is committed to distributed and servant leadership approaches and is a fan of the Hersey-Blanchard leadership model. Adrienne lives with her youngest son in Langley. During her free time, she can be found doing yoga, cooking for friends, reading, and hiking with her very large dog Martin. We are excited to have someone with Adrienne’s wealth of experience support Menno Place in reaching our goals. Adrienne had sent the following message to be shared with the team:

Thanks so much for your patience with me as I have tried to learn Menno’s many intricacies. You always keep me on my toes which is great for us all to keep learning and moving in the same direction! I am really happy to be able to continue supporting you and am looking forward to spending more time getting to know everyone better.
