Re: Changes to Scanning In / Shift Reporting

Menno Home and Menno Apartments will be implementing face scanning for shift reporting later this fall. At that time, the current hand scanners will be removed.

A few key fun facts…

  1. Who does this affect?
Only Employees of Menno Home and Menno Apartments will be affected by this change.
  2. What do Employees need to do?
If you have not had a face scan completed by our People and Culture (P&C) Team, you will need to do so. Currently, this is approximately 500 Employees. The very talented P&C Team will post a sign-up sheet for Employees to select a convenient date and time to have their face scanned and receive education on how to use this technology. These will be located at each nursing station in Menno Home and outside the Wellness Centre in the Apartments on or before October 30. Enrollment will be completed in the P&C office located in Menno Hospital.
  3. What if you already have a face scan?
Lucky you! In this case, you do not have to do anything.
  4. Why is Menno Place doing this?
Menno Place invested in face scanning technology some time ago, with Menno Hospital serving as its pilot site. Hand scanners have been reported to our P&C, Staffing and Payroll Teams as being unreliable with Employees frequently having to fill in missed scan forms. Face scanning is being rolled out campus-wide in response to Employee feedback and to improve processes for everyone.
  5. When will this be implemented?
Employees will be notified at least 1 week prior to the hand scanners being removed. Once completed, face scanners will be the sole means of shift reporting. Missed scan forms will remain available for exceptional use in the event systems issues arise.

Thank you everyone for your support! Post-implementation feedback is most welcome!
