Ann Thakkar, one of the chaplains at Menno Place, shared a familiar passage of scripture from the book of Matthew.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt 11:28-30)

This morning Ann was noticing the verbs in this passage – come, take, and learn. “Take” and “learn” are commandments in this verse, but the first verb, “come” is a gentle invitation. Watch the video below to see how that invitation applies to each of us.

After Ann shared we prayed for Dr. Pooja Mishra, Executive Director of Care Services, and the work she does overseeing all of the care staff across our campus.
