The Elves Are Coming — and They’re Here to Keep Menno Safe!
This December, Santa’s little helpers are popping up across Menno Place… and they’re not always on the NICE list when it comes to safety, but they want to make sure you are! These playful elves are getting into mischief to remind us to stay alert, work safely, and look out for hazards in our environment.
Your Mission:
If you spot one of our mischievous elves below, take a picture and tell us what safety mistake the elf is making. Every week, they’ll be caught in a brand-new scenario. Use the form below to send us your photo and explanation.

What Safety Issues Do the Elves want You to Look For?
Slips, Trips, and Falls
- Wet floors or spills
- Cluttered walkways
- Loose cords or equipment left on the floor
- Footwear that isn’t slip-resistant
- Climbing on chairs instead of using a step stool
Overexertion & Body Mechanics
- Lifting too much weight alone
- Bending instead of squatting
- Twisting while lifting or pushing
- Carrying awkward or oversized items
- Not using available equipment
Rushing or Not Paying Attention
- Moving too quickly in hallways
- Carrying stacked items that block vision
- Texting while walking
- Not checking surroundings before lifting or turning
- Ignoring warning signs or floor markings
Housekeeping & Environmental Hazards
- Blocking fire exits or doorways
- Items stored too high
- Improper use of ladders or step stools
- Cords plugged in unsafely
- Unsecured carts, bins, or equipment
- Dry Christmas Trees
PPE & Infection Control Issues
- Missing gloves or masks when required
- Wearing PPE incorrectly
- Not sanitizing hands
- Eating/drinking in contaminated areas
