Child care: for the week of March 30, if there are urgent situations where you require care for your children, please take the following steps:
School-aged children (K-6): contact your school principal (public and independent)
Children aged 0-5 (pre-K): contact the child Care Options Resource and Referral Program (ECDrefer@options.bc.ca or phone 604.572.8032)
If you are still unable to secure child care through these steps: Surrey School District and community partners have offered access to child care for staff working in ALL Fraser Health communities. Please complete this survey to help us understand your need. If you have questions, please contact the Surrey School District at email@example.com
March 26 – please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-859-1843 between hours of 9am – 1pm. Beginning Monday March 30th Hand in Hand will be running limited services, children cannot attend a program prior to confirmation of attendance with the administration office.
March 27 – To add some additional information to our post from yesterday. Our direction to operate has come from the Ministry of Education; they have provided an outline on the tiers that essential service workers must fit into to meet the needs for childcare. In partnership with the Abbotsford School District we are following this tier system.
The tiers are as follows:
o Tier 1: HealthCare and Emergency Responders
o Tier 2: Social Workers, Service Canada Employees, Utility Workers, and
Food Chain Supply Employees
o Tier 3: Teachers and Childcare Employees
Hand in Hand will not be operating at all of our locations. If you are deemed an essential service employee please ensure that you have made contact with the administration office at email@example.com to arrange care.
If you have not prearranged care with the admin office your child cannot attend the program.
