Respond respectfully with confidence & skill.
The Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Workshop teaches caregivers how to respond respectfully, with confidence and skill, to behaviours associated with dementia. This is for all staff who are associating directly with residents (HCA, LPN, Rec staff, etc.).
Full day educational training (8:30am – 4:30pm) with approval from your supervisor.
Book at least 2 weeks in advance. Spots are limited. All workshops take place at Menno Place Hospital Chapel.
- Full-time or Part-Time Employee o f Menno Place
- Completion of Violence Prevention Modules on Surge Learning or the Fraser Health CCRS Violence Prevention Modules.
- Receive Supervisor written permission for an education day and follow BIS trainer instructions sent by your manager.
- Hand in your signed education day paperwork to staffing a minimum of two weeks prior to the workshop.
- Wait for confirmation from BIS trainer from SafeCare
