International Grandparents Day was first recognized in Canada in 1995. It is a family day intended to honour grandparents, give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children’s children, and help children become aware of the strength, information and guidance older people can offer.
What are Menno Place staff invited to do for Grandparents Day on Saturday, September 9th?
- You are encouraged to bring your families – children and grandchildren to enjoy the bouncy castles, games, crafts, cotton candy and more. Our seniors will enjoy meeting your families and LOVE watching kids having fun! Shuttle service will run every 10 minutes from Peace Lutheran Church parking lot.
- Volunteer! We can always use your help with set up, tear down and serving at various booths. If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out the form below and our Recreation Team will be in touch.
