Thank You Volunteers!

On April 22 at Menno Place, we had our Volunteer Appreciation Party! We were happy to welcome 36 volunteers and guests. The evening was full of good food, great company, fun games, prizes, awards, speeches, and lots of laughs.

We took time to celebrate all the hard work our volunteers have done over the past year for our residents and the Menno Place community. Together, they gave 7,300 hours of their time. We are truly grateful and thankful for their kindness and generosity.

Our volunteers at Menno Place serve in many ways. They help with our recreation team, rehabilitation team, pastoral team, and our governing board. They volunteer in all areas at Menno Place, including the Hospital, Home, and Apartments. Their support makes a big difference every day.

National Volunteer Week was April 19–25, with the theme “Ignite Volunteerism.” This theme reminds us how important volunteers are and the big difference they can make, even to just one person.

Volunteer Canada suggests volunteer week is a special time to celebrate how people help their communities. This year’s theme “Ignite Volunteerism”, inspires the sharing of volunteer stories and encourages more people to get involved.

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers, you make a difference every day!
