Bright Ideas Campaign

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Bright Ideas Campaign.  As promised the first 10 individuals who submitted an idea will get a prize.

They are going to receive a lunch and fancy drink from the Fireside Grill.

We are so happy to report that as of last week 100 Bright ideas were submitted.  We then put the names of all who put in an idea into a bucket and one of our very special residents pulled the name of our grand prize winner.

Tara Nisenboym was the winner and will be receiving a $50 gift voucher to Banter Ice Cream!

What have we learned (so far) from the Bright Ideas you’ve sent in?

The Bright Ideas have been a joy to read through and we are busy reviewing and categorizing them. There are 4 Bright Ideas that we are moving forward with immediately.

The first Bright Idea

  • “Open up the Fireside Café for residents, families and staff. There was so much “life” in that café prior to Covid.”

This idea seems quite straight forward but there is some work to do to ensure that everyone has a place for their break.  Our timeline to have the Fireside reopened by July.

The second Bright Idea

  • “Have a staff BBQ in the courtyard as a “after Covid celebration” or a “kick off for brighter days at Menno.” Almost like we are all entering into a new season at Menno.”

This is a wonderful suggestion, and we are looking at doing this in July.

The third Bright Idea

  • “Staff appreciation days with Food Trucks – with gluten free options.”

This is a great idea.  We are looking into food truck options and do not want to wait so looking at a Date in August where we can do something fun with treats in the courtyard.

The fourth Bright Idea

  • “Would love a vending machine(s) installed at front entrance for families/staff to purchase.”

This is another great idea unfortunately the vending machine companies do not want to have there vending machines at Menno Place.  We looked into this and they have told us that they had them here in the past but as they made no money, they do not want to bring them back.

The fifth Bright Idea

  • “Unit Clerk for Nurses at Menno Hospital”

The Unit Clerk is starting June 15, 2023

Please stay tuned as we make our way through the ideas.  We will be reporting out and asking for clarification on ideas over the coming months.
