If you haven’t already noticed… we are in the middle of a major snow storm! Our teams have done a stellar job of clearing snow, making the entrances safe and ensuring that our services run smoothly. Our residents rely on us for their well-being and safety. Thank you for your ABOVE and BEYOND service to our residents!
Soup at Noon!
If you are here at work today (Feb. 6), please make sure you enjoy some of the complimentary soup that will be in every staff lunchroom at noon! Many of you had to brave crazy conditions to get to work – we want you to know how much we appreciate your dedication and effort! This is a warm way to say THANKS!
Double Shifts
Thank you, also, to those of you who have done double time with taking care of our residents. We are so proud that our service to these special people can carry on through any kind of inclement weather.
Thank you for going ABOVE and BEYOND!
How does the snow storm impact your work at Menno Place?
1. Stay at work until the next shift arrives to ensure sufficient staff.
Most crucial to our residents is that we have enough people to care for their needs. Stay on your shift until the replacements have arrived. This will ensure that we have enough staff to take care of our residents needs during this crazy weather.
2. Do double-time if we are short of staff.
You may need to do two shifts in a row. This is what it means to work in healthcare! We are the backbone of care for these precious residents. Thank you for your willingness to step up and to go ABOVE and BEYOND! Thank you to all who have stepped up in this way, already!
3. Do your very best to come in to work.
We need you at Menno Place! The residents need you! If you are booked to work, make every effort to come into work. Carpool, use public transit, walk if you are close. Thank you for making the effort and making service possible. This is what makes our team so amazing!

5. Be confident that all will be well for our residents. Let them know it’s all good.
Let families, friends and residents know that all is well for our residents as we face the challenges of the snow storm. We are clearing the parking lots and ensuring that all services continue to be provided without interruption. We have tested the generators and they are ready if there is a power outage. Your words can relieve the anxiety that residents may be feeling at this time. Reassure them that all is well. We are prepared. Our staff are amazing!
Thank you for all you do to ensure that our residents are reassured, safe and comfortable during this first storm of the season.
Be safe in this snowfall!
