We had perfect weather for our World Cup soccer-themed ice cream party to wrap up Support Services Appreciation week. As part of the week’s events we asked staff to tell us, “What you value most about your work here at Menno Place?” The contest winner will be announced later this week.

Here’s what some of our staff had to say:

“I value the residents the most. They are like a second family. Work has never felt like work.”

“What I value most about working at Menno Place is the deep, human-centered connection and the opportunity to support Abbotsford’s seniors by treating them as unique individuals rather than a diagnosis. ”

“The feeling I get that I truly matter makes me to keep waking up and show up at Menno Place.”

“Some days just feel so incredibly hard because of the physical demand of our work but when I walk down the hallways and get to see the smile on the face of the residents – that is what makes it worthwhile.”

“I value being a part of an organization that makes a difference in the lives of seniors in our community.”

“Helping to make everything as stress free as possible and interacting with compassion and friendliness and sharing joy with residents and families and all my amazing coworkers!”
