Congratulations on Your Retirement Janet!

It is with both heartfelt gratitude and a touch of sadness that we announce the retirement of Janet Mitton, who has been a valued member of the Menno community for the past 10 years.

Janet began her journey with us in the apartments in 2016, then continued her meaningful work in the home starting in 2020, and most recently brought her talents and passion to the hospital since 2023. Throughout her time on campus, Janet has made an extraordinary impact on residents, staff, and families alike.

Janet has blessed our campus not only with her warm spirit, but also with her incredible artistic talent. Her beautiful paintings have brought color and life to our spaces and joy to those who experience them. During the challenges of COVID, Janet ensured that residents stayed connected and engaged by creating and delivering a virtual art program—offering creativity, comfort, and companionship during an especially difficult time.

Known for her enthusiasm and willingness to try new things, Janet consistently brought fresh ideas, innovative programs, and a sense of fun to everything she did. She was always ready to take on a challenge, infusing her work with artistic flair and her vibrant personality.

Most importantly, Janet’s love for the residents has always been evident. She has a remarkable gift for connecting with people, making each individual feel seen, valued, and cared for.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye; however, Janet’s next chapter will be so exciting as she is getting married in the fall. Janet, we are so happy for you and want only the best for your future.

Congratulations, Janet, and thank you for giving so much to Menno Place residents and the recreation team. You will be missed!
