Dear Team,
In order to provide a safe and secure work environment, Menno Place is requiring all staff to complete the Violence Prevention Modules 1-8, if you haven’t done so already. This applies to ALL MENNO HOME STAFF, direct and non-direct care staff.
You can access and complete the modules on SURGE Learning.
If you’re unsure of your username or password, please contact Rachel Setka, HR Generalist, at Rachel.Setka@mennoplace.ca.
Steps to Complete the Training:
- Go to www.surgelearning.ca.
- Log in with your username and password, then click “Sign In.”
- Click on the Courses Library.
- Locate Health Employers Association of BC Violence Prevention (10) and click the “+” to expand the section.
- Modules 1-8 will be listed.
- Select a module. After completing it, click “I have completed this course.”
- Answer the “Course Completion Verification” question, enter your password, and click “Submit.”
- If there is a “test” icon, please complete the test to ensure the module is marked as complete.
No need to email your certificate to People & Culture – it will automatically be saved in your SURGE Learning profile.
How to Get Paid for 80 Minutes of Education Time:
You do not need to submit a form requesting paid education time. The People & Culture team will generate a report from Surge Learning on the following dates:
- January 6, 2025: for education completed between November 14, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
- April 3, 2025: for education completed between January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2025.
The final deadline for all staff to complete the modules is March 31, 2025.
Thank you for your commitment to creating a safe environment for everyone. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to your participation!
Regards,
Jessy Manhas
