At Menno Place, we have the honour and privilege of getting to know and love our residents.

We hear their stories and journey with them in their times of struggle. We are often beside them as they go through the valley of the shadow of death.

Normally, we gather with the friends and families of our residents for an annual memorial service to remember and celebrate their lives. However, due to COVID, we were unable to hold a 2020 memorial service. And even though restrictions prevented us from gathering in 2021, we honoured the lives of those we lost between June 1, 2019 and August 31, 2021 with three livestream memorial services.

On September 8th, 2021 we honoured 128 residents from Menno Hospital.

23 family members & friends joined the livestream.

65 additional people viewed the recording (as of Oct 1).

On September 15th, 2021 we honoured 152 residents from Menno Home.

31 family members & friends joined the livestream.

137 additional people viewed the recording (as of Oct 1).

On September 23rd, 2021 we honoured 53 residents from Menno Apartments.

10 family members & friends joined the livestream.

115 additional people viewed the recording (as of Oct 1).

Thank you to our Menno Place Chaplains, Ingrid Stahl, Ingrid Schultz, and John Dyck for leading these meaningful services. Special thanks also goes to Shawna Reed (readings), Caroline Simpson (piano), Crystal Hicks (vocals) , Scott McKenzie (tech) and Danielle Kinvig (tech and communications).

If you were unable to join us for the livestream memorials, you can watch the recordings now.
