Re: Chaplain, Menno Hospital
I am pleased to let you know that Andy Capesinio, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, will begin his role as Chaplain at Menno Hospital on June 5th!
Andy has spent many years advocating and supporting marginalized and vulnerable people and those who cannot always speak for themselves. He is a soft-spoken, vibrantly joyful man who has natural interpersonal skills, is a good listener and easily builds relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds. For the past 8 years, Andy has been working with Siloam Mission, most recently as a Spiritual Care Advisor where he built partnerships within the community. These partnerships include treasured relationships with indigenous leaders as well as Filipino-InterChurch leaders in Manitoba. Andy has been a core member of the Winnipeg Pastors and Leaders Prayer Network. He is a natural and much-loved leader.
Andy is well experienced in addressing issues of mental health, substance abuse addiction, homelessness and isolation. As an immigrant from the Philippines, Andy left a position as Program Coordinator for Asian Theological Seminary to come to freezing cold Winnipeg! There, he began work in Tim Horton’s and Rona where he was recognized for his excellence in customer service. He is a great team player and a trusted leader in every workplace.
Andy’s desire to share God’s heart of compassion and care comes from his own deep faith in God and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts from Asian Theological Seminary. Andy has been trusting God for a place of ministry in BC since his wife, Malou and daughters, Mandy and Maia moved here a year ago.
It was my pleasure, along with Ann Thakkar (Chaplain, Menno Home) to tour Andy and his family around the Menno Place campus as he contemplated this move into ministry to seniors, especially those in long-term care. He has shared with me that God has put everything in place as he prepares his move to BC. He has joy in his spirit, soul and body to start a new season and is excited to see and be part of God’s work at Menno Place.
Welcome to the Menno Place Team, Andy!
Kerry Dyck will be serving as Chaplain in Menno Apartments.
