Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, which is sung to the music of Beethoven’s “Hymn of Joy”, is generally considered by hymnologists to be one of the most joyous expressions of hymn lyrics in the English language. Find out more about this hymn inspired by the Berkshire mountains!

Kathrin McMath, Transitioning to a New Role
Leadership is a journey, and what we all know and appreciate is that our leaders grow, adapt and change as they travel along this path. Instead of starting this memo with the traditional and cliched remarks about mixed emotions (of which we certainly are all feeling) we would like to take the opportunity to share with all of you the journey of a longstanding Menno Place leader who is preparing to transition to a new role with a neighboring organization.
Kathrin joined the Menno Place team in 2008 and she has worn many hats throughout her 15 years with Menno Place. Her extensive background and senior level experience in finance and operations enabled us to move forward in our strategic plans and quality improvement. Most recently, Kathrin has served as the Chief Operating Officer, bringing her capabilities to the Executive Team, Leadership Team, Nursing Team and Finance.
We are incredibly grateful to Kathrin for the dedication, compassion, operational competency, leadership and heart that she dedicated to the Menno Place Team and residents. Her team of managers are an exceptionally capable team who continue to serve our residents with skill and compassion.
It is at this point of the journey that we say goodbye and best wishes to Kathrin. Starting May 1st Kathrin will assume the role of CEO with Broadway Group (Vancouver), a faith-based family of charities and non-profits which exist to provide housing and care for older adults and people with disabilities. Given Kathrin’s career evolution we know that this is an excellent fit for her and Broadway Group is gaining an incredible asset. Her last day at Menno Place will be April 21st.
We are looking at our leadership structure closely to determine what is needed. We are confident in our next chapter as we build a transition plan that will continue to support you, the Menno Place Team and the residents whom we love and serve. We will continue to update you as we finalize the Executive team structure.
Please join myself and the Leadership Team in wishing Kathrin all the best in this new opportunity. We look forward to continued partnership in the care for seniors.
Sincerely,
Sujata Connors, CEO
