Cheryl Dawes, Manager of Community Enrichment, Apartments
/in NewsWe are pleased to announce that Cheryl Dawes has accepted the position of Manager, Community Enrichment in the Apartments. She will oversee both the Assisted Living and Independent Living needs in our Apartments – 350 residents. Cheryl reports to Sharon Simpson, Director of Community Enrichment.
Cheryl has most recently worked as the Resident Experience Partner at Sienna Senior Living, developing the strategy and overseeing the implementation of Policy and Procedure for 8 residential care communities in Fraser Health and Interior Health. Prior to that role, Cheryl was the General Manager of Cascade Lodge, Campus of Care (including Hospice) in Chilliwack, BC. Cheryl brings years of experience in both managing Assisted Living and Hospice Care. Cheryl is an LPN.
We look forward to her wealth of experience and leadership as she helps us to meet and exceed the needs of seniors living in Independent / Supportive Living as well as Private-Pay Assisted Living and Fraser Health subsidized Assisted Living.
Cheryl starts on February 24th with an orientation week. Please give her a warm welcome as she orients herself to the campus, the seniors who live here and the staff who are the Heart of Menno Place!
It’s T4 time!

We are currently preparing to send out the 2019 T4 slips.
According to the Government of Canada instructions, your T4 must be provided to you through email or by mail. Unless otherwise instructed, we will be sending you your T4 by email to the same address where you receive your Menno Place pay slip. This may be your personal email address OR your @mennoplace.ca email address.
Should you wish for your T4 to be sent to you at a different email address or by mail, please contact marie.ponting@mennoplace.ca by February 20th, 2020.
Please be aware that for both Menno Home and Menno Hospital staff separate T4 slips are issued for casual employment and regular employment.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all employees of the importance of informing us of any changes, such as, address, telephone, marital status, and personal tax credit eligibility (TD1 information).

As you know, we are all required to wear name tags to make it easier for residents, family members, visitors and each other to know who we are. It’s always nice to call someone by their name.
If you do not have a name tag, please advise your manager or me by Friday, February 7th and I will make one for you.
Any request for nametags after February 7th will be at a cost of $10.00 each.
