COR Audit – Let’s Get Ready Together: Reporting & Speaking Up

Our COR (Certificate of Recognition) Health & Safety Audit will take place from April 27 to May 2.

Over the next two weeks, you will receive short Health & Safety messages to help everyone feel confident and prepared.

These messages:

  • Are based on real questions an auditor may ask
  • Are not a test
  • Reflect what you already do every day

COR Question: How do you report hazards or incidents?

Best Answer:

  • Report through Surge QRM and notify your supervisor. Broken equipment should be reported and red-tagged.

Q: Why is reporting important?

A: It helps prevent injuries and keeps everyone safe.

Q: What if you are unsure something is a hazard?

A: I still report it or ask my supervisor.

Q: Can staff raise safety concerns without fear?

A: Yes. Speaking up is supported.

Q: Who can you talk to about safety concerns?

A: My supervisor or a JOHS Committee member.

Managers and supervisors also lead by example, and safety expectations apply to everyone.

If you don’t know an answer during the audit, it is always okay to say: “I would check SURGE or ask my supervisor.”

Thank you for doing your part to keep Menno Place safe.
