Mission, Vision & Values

The Mennonite Benevolent Society is committed to providing excellent care and service in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion, based on principles of the Christian faith.  Housing and care is provided to residents regardless of ethnic, religious or national background.

Our Lens

Seeing the Issues of Aging through a Christian Perspective which includes respecting the sanctity of life

Our Vision

To be a global leader in geriatric services by providing quality care and life in a compassionate Christian environment

Our Mission

To reflect God’s love by providing facilities and services that express our commitment to excellent resident and family-centred care and enable residents to live with hope and dignity

Our Values

We are trustworthy managers of our resources for the benefit of our residents, families and staff and the long-term sustainability of our operations

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  1 Peter 4:10

We apply ourselves to learning and continually improving to the highest standards

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. Colossians 3:23

We honor and dignify all who live, work or visit our community

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10

We demonstrate our commitment to the sanctity of life through exceptional, holistic palliative care until natural death

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days written in Your book before one of them came to be.  Psalm 139:16

We open ourselves to creative ideas through colleagues, partners and God’s leading

Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning. Proverbs 9:9

We extend God’s care through kindness, empathy and graciousness

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12

We devote ourselves to instructing, supporting and building up one another, by recognizing and celebrating excellence, effort and success

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing….warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone…always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:11-14

Strategic Framework

Menno Place defines its goals and objectives by working through a Strategic Planning process. In 2011, the Board created a Strategic Framework that set the direction for several years. This Board defined the goals for the upcoming years and passed those goals along to the CEO and Executive Team to outline the specific objectives that will secure those goals.

The Strategic Framework (below) is the path that outlines our priorities and operating objectives.
