The Health and Wellness Committee is sponsoring an Easter colouring contest for kids and the young at heart.

To Enter:

  • Fill out the contact info at the bottom of the colouring sheet.
  • Return your completed page to Jeanette Lee by 4pm on Wednesday April 13th to be entered into the draw for a prize!

There are no more cases of COVID in Terrace East. The dining room will reopen for lunch on Wednesday, March 23.

  • Recreation activities will resume in-person.
  • Staff are no longer required to wear goggles.
  • Residents are welcome to travel between buildings.
  • Please continue to wear a mask in all common areas of Terrace East

  •  Twice daily symptom screening for  staff or residents.
  •  Residents  who test positive are to be placed on isolation/droplet precautions.
  • Communal dining is closed for Home E2 only
  • Group activities for Home E2 are stopped.
  • Social visits  can continue in all Menno Home units

The Terrace East dining room will remain closed for another week. In person recreation activities are also cancelled.

Protocols:

  • No communal dining. The Terrace East dining room is CLOSED effective suppertime on Tuesday March 15th. All meals will be served to residents in their apartments. Residents will be notified by a memo delivered today (Tuesday).
  • No in-person group activities for Terrace East.
  • No change to social visits. Visits continue. We ask that all visitors are vigilant about screening themselves, completing a rapid test when they enter the building, wear a MEDICAL mask (provided), sanitize hands. Do not enter if you are sick.
  • Cohorting staff to the affected area (building).
  • Twice a day monitoring for all staff and residents
  • Staff must wear masks and goggles in all resident areas.

Rapid Tests Available For All 18 and Older

It’s time for everyone to get their free rapid tests. Starting Wednesday, March 23, 2022, everyone in Canada aged 18 or older can pick up free rapid test at their local pharmacy. Pick up a test kit while you are feeling well so you’ll have it on hand if you develop symptoms.

Welcome to the Team: Linda Weatherly

Please welcome Linda Weatherly as the newest member of the leadership team at Menno Place in the role of Manager of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteer Services.

Linda worked at Menno Place as a Recreation Aide in 2017 after completing her diploma in Therapeutic Recreation. Prior to her career change she was a business development leader for 27 years overseeing  9 BC locations of a women’s fashion store. Linda is excited to come back to Menno Place to work collaboratively with the recreation workers, the rehabilitation team, and the volunteers to serve the many residents that live on the campus. Her first day of work is April 11th.
