UPDATE: Flu Shots and Online Reporting of Immunization

Please get your influenza immunization before December 1st.

Question: Do you need to get a flu shot if you are wearing a mask every shift?

Answer: Yes. The flu vaccine has more than a half-century history of safely and effectively preventing many strains of the flu and it keeps many people out of the hospital due to flu-related illnesses. Expert opinion warns that co-infection with influenza and COVID-19 may result in devastating health outcomes for some. It is especially important this year to avoid preventable diseases such as the flu so that resources can remain focused on fighting the ongoing pandemic. Let’s focus on helping to save lives by uniting to prevent the spread of any infection.

This year, flu vaccinations were given to staff between Oct. 26 and Nov 6th for those who worked during these on-unit flu clinics.

If you did not get a flu vaccination during those dates, please go to a drugstore (Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs) to receive your flu shot. Shoppers Drug Mart requires online registration and no appointment necessary.

STAFF PARKING NOTICE

Attention All Staff:

With the increase in visitors, we are seeing more cars in our parking lots. Therefore, Impark will be increasing their patrols.
You are reminded that you need an Impark parking pass to park on Menno Place lots. Click Here for instructions on Sign up How-To

An alternative is to park for free at the Peace Lutheran Church; passes are available from Human Resources.

Parking in the “Resident Only” parking along Brundige Ave and Primrose St is for residents and their visitors only. This includes the angled parking on the east side of Primrose Gardens. We have asked the City of Abbotsford to increase their patrols of these spots as well, and watch for parking passes. Staff are not permitted to park in these areas or take parking passes that are meant for visitors.

Thank you for your cooperation.
