Another Great Outcome!

From May 2 – 5, 2022 Menno Place was audited by the BC Municipal Safety Association to determine the status of our Occupational Health and Safety Program. This is a voluntary audit that Menno Place chooses to have done each year to ensure we meet and exceed the safety standards required by WorkSafeBC.

We are very pleased that we passed with flying colors – with a final score of 94%! This is an exceptional outcome, considering the extra staffing challenges and safety requirements we have gone through this past year.

Thanks to all our team members, supervisors, Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee members, and the entire leadership team for your dedication and commitment to Safety at Menno Place!

Celebrating Muti Dincer

A lovely retirement celebration was held for Muti Dincer, at Menno Home on Friday May 20th. Muti worked in food services for 19 years at Menno Home and is remembered as a dedicated, kind coworker and friend. Her love for the residents was evident in her interactions with them each day. She will be dearly missed!
We wish Muti all the best in her years of retirement!

Here Comes the Sun

Thank you to Debbie Block, one of our Menno Home Recreation Team for bringing sunshine, ice cream and joy to the residents at Menno Home!

Support for Internationally Educated Nurses

“To meet the increasing demand for nurses in British Columbia, the Province is making it easier for eligible internationally educated nurses (IENs) to enter the province’s health system so they can support British Columbians’ health-care needs sooner.

Together with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), the Nursing Community Assessment Service (NCAS) and Health Match BC (HMBC), the Province is supporting IENs who want to work in B.C.”

If you or someone you know has been educated internationally and could benefit from this program you can find more information here on the BC Government website: https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2022HLTH0120-000589
