COR Audit – Let’s Get Ready Together: Equipment & Work Environment

Our COR (Certificate of Recognition) Health & Safety Audit will take place from April 27 to May 2.

Over the next week, you will receive short Health & Safety messages to help everyone feel confident and prepared.

These messages:

  • Are based on real questions an auditor may ask
  • Are not a test
  • Reflect what you already do every day

COR Question: What do you do if equipment is broken or unsafe?

Best Answer:

  • I stop using it, tell my supervisor, and red-tag it.

Q: Why do we red-tag equipment?

A: So others do not use it and to prevent injuries.

Q: What do you do if you see unsafe work?

A: I speak up or tell my supervisor.

Q: How do inspections help safety?

A: They find hazards so fixes can be made.

Q: How are maintenance issues handled?

A: I report them using the proper system or to my supervisor.

Managers and supervisors also lead by example, and safety expectations apply to everyone.

If you don’t know an answer during the audit, it is always okay to say: “I would check SURGE or ask my supervisor.”

Thank you for doing your part to keep Menno Place safe.
