Report It Before It Hurts: The Power of Early Reporting
See something? Say something, it could save a colleague from injury.
Many WorkSafeBC claims start small, a sore wrist, a minor strain, or an “it’s nothing” moment. But these early warning signs often turn into long-term injuries if they go unreported.
Why early reporting matters:
- It helps prevent minor issues from becoming serious injuries.
- It allows supervisors to fix hazards quickly.
- It ensures you get access to modified duties or medical support right away.
- It keeps our WorkSafe costs down by reducing time-loss claims.
How to take action:
- Report all injuries, near misses, and hazards immediately to your supervisor.
- Complete an incident report, even for small issues.
- Encourage your peers to do the same, it’s a sign of strength, not weakness.
Every report is a step toward a safer, stronger workplace.
