Re: Make Sure You Receive ComVida Notifications

Managers and employees have reported that they are not getting notifications on ComVida. We would like to remind you of two important items that may be impacting the effectiveness of the ComVida app.

Please check the following items on your app:

  • The date at the top left corner has to be changed to December 31, 2026. This will allow ComVida to show you the proper shifts. You might still have your calendar set to 2025 and that will cause a problem for you.
  • Please make sure notifications in ComVida are on the menu bar. There is a notification tab that has to be active.

Please check the following item on your phone:

  • Make sure your phone has notifications turned on. You will need to go to the settings tab on your phone to ensure the notifications is set correctly for your apps.

We would like to share an important update to help clarify how shift offers are reviewed and awarded.

Each shift offer includes a Priority Window, which is the guaranteed time period during which your bid will be reviewed before the shift may be offered more broadly. The length of the priority window depends on how soon the shift is scheduled to start.

Understanding these timeframes will help ensure you submit your bids promptly and do not miss opportunities.

Priority Windows for Shift Offers

What this means for you?

  • Your bid is guaranteed to be reviewed if submitted within the priority window.
  • Once the priority window closes, the shift may be offered to a wider group.
  • Earlier response times increase your chances of being awarded the shift.

Please ensure notifications are enabled and check your schedule regularly so you don’t miss priority bidding opportunities.

How Shifts Are Called Out in ComVida

When a shift becomes vacant, a notification is sent to all employees, regardless of whether the shift would be worked at regular time or overtime.

Once the priority response window closes, the Staffing Department awards the shift in the following order:

  • Seniority order for employees eligible to work the shift at regular time.
  • Seniority order for employees eligible to work the shift at overtime on the unit.
  • Seniority order for employees eligible to work the shift at overtime on the site.
  • Seniority order for employees eligible to work the shift at overtime.

Each vacant shift is posted only once.

It is the responsibility of the employee to contact the People and Culture Department if they are not receiving shift call-out notifications for a specific site.

ComVida Update: Easier Log In Process Starts Nov 27

Subject: ComVida Updates

Dear Staff,

This memo is to inform you of upcoming changes to ComVida.

Please note that ComVida will be temporarily unavailable on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm due to system updates.
We are pleased to share that we have taken your feedback to the ComVida team and worked collaboratively to enhance the software and address several concerns raised by staff.

Some of the key concerns included:

  • Having to log in with multiple usernames if cross-hired
  • Not receiving notifications on the mobile app in a timely manner
  • Having to complete first-time registration through the web browser

As of November 21, 2025, staff can now register their accounts directly through the ComVida mobile app.

We are also happy to announce that each employee has been assigned a unique username. This means you will no longer need multiple logins to access schedules across different sites if you are cross-hired. All notifications for vacant shifts—as well as your work schedule—will now be available under one profile.

This memo is a friendly reminder to watch for an important email from People and Culture this week. That email will include your new username, along with steps to ensure you remain connected and fully set up.

Once you receive your new username:

  •  Please log in to ComVida using the new username. This can be done no earlier than Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 7:00 pm.
  • Your password will remain the same.
  • Ensure notifications are turned on in the ComVida mobile app so you continue receiving real-time alerts.
  • There is no need to delete or reinstall the mobile app.

Please note:

  • The new username logins take effect Friday, November 28, 2025.
  • Daily shift callouts will resume in ComVida on December 1, 2025.

If you do not receive your new username by November 27, 2025:

  • Check your junk or spam folder.
  • If you still do not see the email, please email jessy.manhas [at] mennoplace.ca with your employee number and the site you work at.

ComVida App Update

Please be advised that ComVida will not be accessible Friday November 21, 2025 from 4-5 pm as an update is being made to the mobile app.

The latest update includes the following improvements:

  • Direct Registration in the App: New users can now register directly in the mobile app without needing to use a browser.
  • Password Reset Within the App: Passwords can now be reset directly in the app by clicking forgot my password.

ComVida Use Paused

Dear Staff,

We would like to inform you of a technical issue with Comvida. Because our set-up is unique to Menno Place, Comvida has identified a problem related to the most recent Apple iPhone upgrade. As a result, cross hired staff are not receiving notifications for both sites unless they manually log into each site. To be fair to everyone, we have to pause the use of ComVida until the issue is resolved.

In the meantime, Staffing will manually call out daily single shifts by phone effective September 27, 2025.

Please note:

  • Block bookings will continue to be called out through Comvida, as staff have sufficient time to bid on these shifts.
  • Cross hired staff must log in to each site using the specific login for that location to bid on block bookings.

Thank you to those who brought this issue forward. Your feedback is important and helps us identify and resolve problems quickly.

We will provide updates as soon as ComVida shares a fix.

Duration of Vacant Shift Notifications in ComVida App

Subject: Duration of Vacant Shift Notifications Showing in ComVida App

We’ve heard your feedback! Many staff have raised concerns about seeing too many vacant shifts under the notification screen of the ComVida app and not knowing which ones are new versus old.

To address this, the Staffing Team will now clear out the previous day’s notifications the following afternoon. This will help ensure your notification screen is easier to read and up to date.

Example 1: A shift for September 23, 2025 is posted on September 22, 2025. It will be cleared from the notification screen on the afternoon of September 23, 2025, given it is filled.

Example 2: A shift for September 22, 2025 is posted on September 22, 2025. It will be cleared from the notification screen on the afternoon of September 23, 2025, given it is filled.

Block Booking in ComVida

The Staffing Team has started offering block bookings through ComVida.

  • You will receive a notification labeled “Block Booking” (see image below).
  • Notifications will only be sent if you are available to work the entire block of shifts.

When you double-click on the block booking notification, you will be able to view the date, time, and unit for each shift included in the block (see example image below).
