WorkSafe BC COR certified!

We did it Again! COR Occupational Health and Safety Audit Result = 95%

Between May 3 – 6, 2021 Menno Home and Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety Programs were audited by an external auditor to ensure we meet and exceed the safety requirements of WorkSafe BC. This is a voluntary audit that Menno Place does annually and requires an 80% pass. We are please to receive a Certificate of Recognition (COR) with a 95% result! This is a great result considering the tumultuous year we have gone through with COVID – 19.

Thank you to the 41 team members who met with the auditor and answered his questions around safety at Menno Place. A special thank you to the Menno Home, Hospital and Apartments Joint Occupational Health Committees for their input and to Pearl Nucich and Jessy Manhas for collecting the data required and scheduling all the interviews!

Meet CORky the SAFETY HERO… He’s here to help us strengthen our COR

April 30th – May 4th, we will be participating in an audit of our Occupational Health and Safety Program.

Much like Accreditation, there will be surveyors who will be inspecting all levels of Health and Safety on the Menno Place campus.

Inspectors will be looking at the Management and Leadership Commitment to Health and Safety, Safe Work Procedures and Written Instructions, Training and Instruction of Workers, Hazard Identification and Control, Inspection of the Premises and Equipment, Investigation of Accidents, Administration of the Health and Safety Program and the work of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

They will be asking staff questions…THEY COULD ASK YOU!

Good News! They have given us the questions in advance. You will receive a set of questions and answers each week via email. Read your emails and you will have the answers to the auditor’s questions! The questions and answers are also on posters located across the campus.

Watch your emails each week for the COR questions and answers.

In order to help you along in the process, we’ve asked CORky, our SAFETY HERO to help us answer these questions. He has a very strong CORe!
