Re: September 01, 2024
As you may be aware, the Abbotsford Nagar Kirtan Parade is scheduled for September 1, 2024. In the past, we have noticed a pattern of increased sick calls on this day, followed by staff working on the statutory holiday the next day.
Due to this recurring pattern, we will be requiring proof of illness/doctor’s note as per the Collective Agreement from anyone who calls in sick on September 1, 2024. Additionally, if you call in sick on September 1, 2024 and then come to work on the statutory holiday, September 2, 2024, an investigation will be initiated by your Manager with a Shop Steward. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.
This procedure is being enforced strictly, as there have been numerous shift cancellations which is putting Menno Place at risk of not being able to provide safe resident care.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your manager.
Regards,
Jessy Manhas
Manager of People & Culture
